The Jessamine County Sheriff has been found deceased inside his home.

Sheriff Kevin Corman was found deceased at his home on West Maple Street in Nicholasville on Sunday afternoon, Kentucky State Police said. No foul play is suspected and he is believed to have died of natural causes.

“Our thoughts just go out with the sheriff’s office and the family,” Trooper Adam Hall said. “Any time there’s a death, it’s tragic for everyone.”

Corman was first elected sheriff in 2006. He lost his bid for a fifth term in the recently held primary election.

His body was transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
