CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Jeff and Patti Kinzbach, the hosts of “Rocking the RV Life” podcast, are very familiar with the ins and outs of an RV campground at this point -- but not nearly as much as Jim Emmert, the former longtime owner of a KOA franchised campground in Homerville, Ohio.

Emmert and his wife Alice bought the park, formerly known as Wild Wood Lakes campground (now known as Camp HiYo!), in 1994 and improved the campground’s stores, sewage and sites over the next couple of decades. In the podcast, Emmert also shares stories from running the business, including lawsuits, bad guests and more.

The Kinzbachs have been living out of their RV since Jeff retired from the radio business in September 2020. Here in Northeast Ohio, Jeff is known for his 50-year on-air run as a host of the Buzzard Morning Zoo on WMMS-FM/100.7 in Cleveland and later at WONE-FM/97.5 in Akron.

Now, he and Patti have transferred those skills to their adventurous podcast, while traveling North America. The “Rocking the RV Life” podcast is presented in partnership with cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer.

Listeners can access “Rocking the RV Life” via Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and at cleveland.com’s podcasting page.

What have your experiences been like at local RV parks? The Kinzbachs welcome comments at their website, rockingthervlife.com.
