Birmingham’s Milo’s Hamburgers will open a new location in Sylacauga next month, and is planning another for Clanton later this year.
The Sylacauga restaurant will open June 9 at 41135 U.S. 280, Suite A. It will be the Alabama burger chain’s 23rd location.
Milo’s CEO Tom Dekle said the company uses its Milo’s Burger Bus, a tricked-out food truck bearing saucy hamburgers, to test out new markets for potential store locations.
“We started bringing the Burger Bus to Sylacauga a few months ago and the response was incredible,” Dekle said. “We are thrilled to be a part of the Sylacauga community.”
The company will announce details for its Clanton location later.
The Sylacauga location will have the standard Milo’s menu, and customers can dine-in, go through the drive-thru, or order ahead through the mobile app or website and pick up to get loyalty points for online orders.
From June 9 through 11, the first 100 through the door in Sylacauga will receive a free menu item along with Milo’s merchandise. On opening day, the first 100 customers will receive a bottle of Milo’s Famous Sauce and a coupon for a free original cheeseburger. The second day, the first 100 customers will receive a Milo’s hat and a coupon for a free original chicken sandwich. By day three, the first 100 customers will receive a coffee tumbler and a coupon for a free regular shake of choice.
In addition, on grand opening week, Milo’s will donate 20% of all Jr. Meal sales to Alabama Childhood Food Solutions, which last year provided more than 400,000 pounds of food to needy families in need.
