STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Another Staten Island resident is luckier – and richer – after winning the top prize on a TAKE 5 Lottery ticket.

The New York Lottery announced that one, top prize-winning ticket was purchased on May 22 at the Kings Port Richmond C-Store, located at 387 Port Richmond Ave. in Port Richmond.

The winning TAKE 5 ticket was worth $32,944, the New York Lottery said.

TAKE 5 numbers are drawn from numbers between one through 39. The drawing is televised twice a day at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

The winning ticket from May 22 was the 10:30 p.m. drawing.

Winners can claim their prize of any size up to one year after the date of the drawing.

Last month, a top prize TAKE 5 ticket also went to a Staten Island resident.

On April 24, a winning ticket was purchased at Island Food Market, Inc., located at 231 Broad St. in Stapleton. The winning ticket was worth $18,316, the New York Lottery said.

The New York Lottery continues to be touted as North America’s largest and most profitable lottery, contributing $3.59 billion during fiscal year 2020-21 to support education in New York State.

New York Lottery revenue is distributed to local school districts by the same statutory formula used to distribute other state aid to education. It takes into account both a school district’s size and its income level; larger, lower-income school districts receive proportionately larger shares of lottery school funding.

New Yorkers struggling with a gambling addiction, or who know someone who is, can find help by calling the State’s toll-free, confidential HOPEline at 1-877-8-HOPENY (1-877-846-7369) or by texting HOPENY (467369).
