On3 Consensus 4-star offensive tackle Zalance Heard has locked in his first official visit.

The 6-foot-5.5, 295-pound left tackle prospect with 36-inch arms is scheduled to make an official visit to Nebraska June 10-12.

Heard, No. 16 overall in the On300, will see a very familiar face when he arrives in Lincoln June 10.

“They have a great relationship with me,” Heard told On’s Sam Spiegelman May 20. “My running back (Ajay Allen) is going there and he’s pulling for me hard. I feel like it could be a great fit.”

The Cornhuskers also have another key connection. Wide receivers coach Mikey Joseph is a native of the Pelican State with long standing connections in the Monroe, La. area.

Nebraska became one of 18 offers for Heard in late January. Since that time, Joseph and staff members have built a solid relationship with Heard.

Texas in line for an official visit in June

The list of programs Heard will make official visits to before making a decision includes LSU, Texas, USC and Florida State. Oklahoma State is another possibility.

The No. 3-ranked offensive tackle prospect in the 2023 cycle relayed to On3 Sunday night that Texas is likely to receive an official visit June 24-26.

Scouting report on LSU target Zalance Heard

“Physically-gifted offensive tackle prospect with outstanding length and block-finishing skills. Has prototypical size at the position, measuring 6-foot-5.5, 295 pounds as a junior. Possesses elite length, with his arms checking in at 36 inches on college visits. Began his career as a defensive lineman prior to transferring to northeast Louisiana power Neville High. Played exclusively at right tackle as a junior and looks to have the highest upside at offensive tackle.

“His defensive lineman athleticism shows up by way of advanced movement skills, particularly in the run game where he’s a mauling presence. Already a dominant drive blocker in his first full season playing offensive line. Has natural upper body strength to go with his length and athleticism. Is a bit high-hipped and will need to continue playing lower. Needs to continue developing his pass set technique as he gains experience at the position.”
