(Willmar MN-) The number of birds affected by this spring's outbreak of bird flu has crossed the 3 million mark. Two more Minnesota poultry operations tested positive over the past few days...a backyard poultry operation in Polk County and a commercial turkey operation in Dakota County. That brings the number of affected birds to 3 million 8 thousand 799. So far 79 sites have been hit in 25 different counties. In 2015, more than 9 million birds in Minnesota had to be destroyed due to H5N1 HPAI.
