NASCAR star Kurt Busch accused of ‘tortious act’ by wife as couple works to dissolve marriage

NASCAR driver Kurt Busch and his wife, Ashley, are reportedly on the outs.

NASCAR star Kurt Busch and his wife, Ashley Busch, are on the outs, and the driver’s wife is using some strong language in describing why she is bailing on the marriage.

According to reports, in court filings, she said the marriage was “irretrievably broken,” and alleged Kurt “committed a tortious act,” in helping it get there.

The document did not go into details about what that act was.

The couple was reportedly married in January of 2017.

According to reports, Ashley said that in early April the NASCAR driver “cut off her access to their joint banking account, credit cards and all other forms of support.” She claims that Kurt also “demanded she leave the family home by the first week of June, even though he has another home in which he can reside.”

Kurt Busch reportedly released a statement to E! News in which he said he was “heartbroken to confirm,” that the two were “working to dissolve our marriage.”

“Divorce is a personal and private matter, and I hope our privacy will be respected,” he wrote.

Kurt Busch is currently 18th in the NACAR Cup Series points standings.

The 43-year-old, who finished 11th in last season’s standings, is a veteran driver with many accolades.
