Reds, Cubs and Cardinals win Sunday while Braves lose

Joey Votto hit a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the eighth as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2 at Rogers Centre. The Reds improve to 12-and-28 and begin a home series with the Chicago Cubs.

Frank Schwindel mashed a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning as the Chicago Cubs edged the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 avoiding a sweep.

The St. Louis Cardinals rattled off 20 hits in an 18-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. Albert Pujols came off the bench to hit two home runs and drive in four runs, while Harrison Bader also went deep. Yadier Molina also pitched for St. Louis, giving up four runs in an inning of relief. The Cardinals welcome the Toronto Blue Jays to Busch Stadium this evening.
