Monday, May 30 is Memorial Day and in Chelsea, the annual parade will begin at 10 a.m.
Participants will gather in the municipal parking lot downtown, and the parade route will be south on Main Street, east on Park Street, north on East Street, and east on Middle Street and continue into Oak Grove Cemetery.
The parade is hosted by the Herbert J. McKune American Legion Post 31.
There will then be a ceremony to honor veterans at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Once everyone is in the cemetery, Police Sgt. Rich Kinsey will deliver this year’s speech.
Originally called Decoration Day, it is observed on the last Monday in May and is symbolized by the red poppy.
