Would it be appropriate for Eastenders to mention Grenfall when the anniversary arrives next month

I would love if they do something like another soap has done and do a scene where characters lay flowers for the people who were killed af Grenfall especially when it is coming up five years of the tragedy

If they do, I hope they give a tribute to GrenFELL rather than GrenFALL given that that is the actual name of the tower that burned down. ;)

But no, in all seriousness, it would be a lovely thing for them to do, and quite appropriate given that it's the London-set soap. They reference real life stuff that isn't important in the grand scheme of things, so this would be a touching and appropriate thing to do.

No, EE is a work of fiction and I don't really see that a reference would be of consolation to the people who lost their relatives, friends or homes in the fire.

It is different to the screen card commemorating Barbara Windsor or a mention of a topical issue such as the 2016 referendum.

    Why specifically this tragedy?

I wouldn't think they will because it's still a bit of a hot potato politically. The BBC still want to perpetuate the myth of impartiality.
