DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – St. Louis County authorities have arrested the man who escaped from the Northeast Regional Corrections Center.
Kris Severin was reported missing from the facility on Wednesday and, following several tips, was spotted at a residence south of Eveleth on Thursday night.
As deputies arrived, Severin fled into swampy area west of the residence. A search of the area by law enforcement and a tracking K-9 was suspended after several hours because of weather and the flooded terrain.
When deputies returned to the residence about 8:30 Friday morning, Severin was located inside a vehicle that was parked on the property.
He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the St. Louis County Jail in Duluth.
