Three people arrested with more than $700 in stolen items: Avon Police Blotter

Theft, Chester Road

Police arrested three Lorain residents at 11:05 a.m. April 17 when police responded to a Walmart store for a theft in progress. The suspects were found with approximately $700 worth of stolen items and charged with criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property, reports said. Avon Police added that Lorain and Amherst Police may have active investigations on the arrested individuals as well.

Theft, Nagel Road

Police responded to a theft call at 4:59 p.m. April 8 that three juveniles had stolen alcohol and other items from a Meijer store and fled in a vehicle. Officers later located the suspects in Avon Lake where the stolen store merchandise was recovered and all three juveniles were released to their parents. The case was referred to the juvenile court for theft and possession of alcohol.

Identity fraud, Detroit Road

An unknown man reportedly entered a US Bank branch inside a Heinen’s store April 8 and attempted to gain access into a customer’s account using a fake ID. The man left prior to police arrival and police later contacted the person he was portraying.

Traffic crash, Interstate 90

Police responded to reports of a driver striking a guardrail several times April 8. The man’s pickup truck was located and reports said the driver was arrested on multiple charges.

Theft, Detroit Road

Police responded to a theft report at a Heinen’s store April 18 and arrested one person for shoplifting.
