The Kern County coroner's office has released the name of the man killed in a highway shooting.
The California Highway Patrol said Daniell Mykal Williams, 24 was shot and killed on Thursday, May 5, 2022.
According to court documents Taeviyon Jamil Wandick, Denell Martray King and Christopher Jamurea Thompson followed Williams from the Valley Plaza Mall.
The reports said all three are members of the East Side Crips.
Surveillance footage and GPS ankle monitors show the followed Williams who was driving a Camaro from the mall onto Highway 99 then Highway 58, where witnesses reported men inside a Toyota fired at Williams.
Causing him to crash east of Union Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol found surveillance footage of the suspects and shared it with a Bakersfield Police.
A member of their gang unit recognized them as people they've encountered multiple times.
Police also informed the CHP that King and Wandick were on parole and wearing ankle monitors.
King’s GPS ankle tracked him at the mall and the location of the shooting.
Wandick and King were arrested on May 7, 2022, Wandick in the 2000 block of Larcus Avenue and King in the 1400 block of Kentucky Street.
Thompson was arrested the night of May 8, 2022, in the 4300 block of Parkwood Court.
