The New York Yankees have dominated the AL East all season long. Prior to their doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox, they had an incredible 29-10 record. It seemed like they would easily get two more wins against Chicago, considering how Aaron Judge and the rest of the team was hitting.

However … in a rather strange turn of events, the Yankees misfired against the White Sox in two straight games. They were able to muster up just one run in front of their home crowd in two games. That pathetic performance hadn't been seen in NY's franchise history since 1991, via ESPN Stats and Info:

The Yankees‘ bats uncharacteristically went cold in their last two games. During their 5-0 loss to the White Sox, the team as a whole managed just three hits and walked just two times. They were rarely able to get on base. When they did make it there, they were unable to capitalize on the scoring opportunities presented to them.

The good news for the Yankees is this could very well just be a two-game fluke from the team. Barring a catastrophic collapse, this team is bound to bounce back from this flimsy performance. Judge won't always be held to just one hit in four tries and strike out twice. DJ LeMahieu won't always be held hitless.

The Yankees are still sitting pretty in the AL East with a 29-12 record following this two-game stretch. Up next is a three-game bout against the Baltimore Orioles, a team that New York has dominated this season.
