Motorcyclist pronounced dead after collision in Wahiawa

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Police reported a motorcyclist in his 50s was pronounced dead on Sunday after an accident on Kaukonahua Road.

The incident was a single-vehicle collision and prompted a road closure in both directions between Kamananui Road and Wilikina Drive at around 3:48 p.m.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

By 6:40 p.m. the road was reopened.

As police continue to investigate they said speed appeared to be a factor in the accident.
