Cooler temps, some rain expected on Staten Island this week

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- After a pair of scorching days over the weekend, Staten Island is expected to feel a little more like spring this upcoming week.

The National Weather Service forecasts Monday will be partly sunny with a high near 74 degrees. Temperatures will dip to a low around 57 in the evening as clouds roll in.

Tuesday will be cooler with mild winds and a high near 68 degrees before falling to around 54 degrees at night, the forecast said.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy alongside a high near 68 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There is a 30% chance of showers late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

A 40% chance of showers will persist Thursday alongside a high near 73 degrees, the forecast said. Showers will be likely in the evening as temperatures dip to around 64 degrees.

Friday also carries a 40% showers during the day, though the possibility of rainfall will dissipate in the evening, according to the National Weather Service. Friday has a high near 77 degrees and a low around 60 degrees.
