UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal US 231 crash

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan Police have identified the victim of the fatal Sunday crash on Highway 231.

Benjamin Flores, 34, was killed after he lost control of his car, swerved off the road, and then hit a telephone pole, according to DPD. The impact caused cable lines to fall on the roadway, which caused five other vehicles to stop but not crash.

The crash is still under investigation, however, weather may have caused Flores’ car to hydroplane.

Dothan Police are expected to release more information on the crash.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — One person is dead after a crash on Hwy. 231 near Barrington Road in Dothan.

First responders arrived on the scene shortly after 6 p.m.

One vehicle was overturned in a ditch wrapped in powerlines.

Several vehicles were involved in the crash.

Multiple Wiregrass agencies responded to the scene including Dothan and Midland City Police, Houston County and Dale County Sheriff’s Offices, Houston County EMA, Dothan Fire, and Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd.
