The Logan County Fair and Rodeo Royalty Program is looking for applicants for the 2023 Queen and Sweetheart.  We strive to teach young women strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent horsemanship skills, helping them to become great peer role models. It is the program’s goal to help our candidates and royalty members gain skills they will continue to use as they enter adulthood and the workplace; skills such as public speaking, networking, leadership, professionalism and presentation. Miss Rodeo Logan County and her Sweetheart are more than just sequins and queen waves, they are a representation of the Logan County Fair and its communities

The Logan County royalty travels an average of 1000 miles per year around Colorado and neighboring states promoting the Logan County Fair and Rodeo.  They will have appearances at area Fall Festivals; volunteer at the National Western Stock Show in Denver; make appearances at the Elizabeth Stampede, Brush 4th of July Celebration, Greeley Stampede, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and several more. All of this is made possible because of the support they receive from their families, their sponsors and the Logan County Fair Board.

The title of Miss Rodeo Logan County is open to young ladies between the ages of 16 and 20 years of age. She is our lead ambassador of the Logan County Fair and Rodeo and she carries her title for one year. She will help organize and host various events and fundraisers for the royalty program, obtain sponsorships for program expenses, and maintain social media platforms. Applicants interested in running for Miss Rodeo Logan County must have reliable transportation and strong horsemanship skills.

The title of Logan County Sweetheart is open to young ladies between the ages of 11 and 15 years of age. The responsibilities of the Sweetheart have changed from what they were in the past. Just like Miss Rodeo Logan County, the Sweetheart will hold her title for one year. She will have the opportunities to learn the ins and outs of the MRLC Royalty Program and the skills and qualifications needed to be a successful queen. She will assist Miss Rodeo Logan County at area events, and obtaining sponsorships. Applicants interested in running for Logan County Sweetheart must also have reliable transportation and have a safe horse to attend events on.

Back again after a two-year hiatus is the Little Miss Program for young girls between the ages of 8 and 10 years old. These young ladies will participate and help out during the Logan County Fair by handing out ribbons during fair week, riding in the royalty pickup during the fair parade and attending the queen’s luncheon. In addition, they get to participate in parts of the contest and all applicants get a tiara and sash. Girls do not need a horse to participate, but must have reliable transportation and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during all events.

If all of this sounds overwhelming, current Miss Rodeo Logan County Tobi-Beth Erickson will be hosting a clinic on June 11 that will help young ladies prepare for the contest and their reign as title holders. In addition to this, the royalty program coordinators host several preliminary workshops during June and July before the contest going over several contest components in detail to help prepare contestants for the pageant.

Applications for Miss Rodeo Logan County, Logan County Sweetheart and Little Miss can be found on the fair’s website www.lcfair.org under the “Royalty” tab. All applications are due June 1.
