Laptop stolen in business break-in: Lakewood Police Blotter

LAKEWOOD, Ohio –

Breaking and entering: Detroit Avenue

An employee of the Lossman Motors body shop called the police department at 3:40 p.m. May 9 to report the business was broken into and a laptop was stolen, according to a Lakewood Police Department event report.

Theft: Mars Avenue

A resident of Mars Avenue near Detroit Road called police at 12:43 a.m. on May 11 to report a minivan pulled up to a house across the street and stole some of the decorations from the yard. The minivan was last seen headed eastbound on Detroit.

Theft: Lake Avenue

A resident of the Carlysle Condominiums called the police department at 9:31 a.m. on May 11 to report that his vehicle had been left unlocked in the parking garage, and a gun, gun bag, computer, and medication along with some other items were missing from the vehicle.

Disorderly conduct: Lakeland Avenue

A resident called the police department at 11:06 p.m. on May 10 to report a man was passed out in his driveway. Officers arrested an adult male suspect for disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Disorderly conduct: Waterbury Road

A resident called the police department at 3:30 a.m. on May 9 to report a man was walking up and down the street in his underwear screaming for help. The man at one point began banging on a door to one of the residences on Waterbury, according to a police event report. Officers arrested the man for disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Criminal damaging: Elmwood Avenue

A man came to the police station on May 9 to report finding damage to his vehicle.

Disorderly conduct: Clarence Avenue

A caller at 2:50 a.m. on May 8 told police of a white pickup truck parked on Clarence Avenue far from the curb and facing the wrong way that appears to be occupied. The caller saw the light inside the vehicle go on and off. Officers cited a man for disorderly conduct while intoxicated and released the man at the police station to a sober party.

OVI: Grace Avenue at Detroit Avenue

Officers responded at 4:51 p.m. on May 7 to a report of a vehicle driven by a woman backing into another vehicle. The car continued and struck a pole at 1246 Thoreau Road, according to a police event report. The female driver was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failing to stop after an accident.

DCI: Arlington Road

An anonymous caller at 11:26 p.m. on May 7 reported someone was lying on a tree lawn on Arlington Road. A rescue squad transported a woman to the Cleveland Clinic Lakewood Emergency Department, and an officer cited the woman with disorderly conduct while intoxicated, according to a police event report.
