DARRYL SUTTER ON GAME 3 MINDSET:

#

"It'll be awesome."

BLAKE COLEMAN ON ADJUSTMENTS FOR GAME 3:

"Our defensive game has not been where it needs to be for both games to start the series. It's obviously been the identity of our team to be aggressive checkers and playing within that system. Just a little bit of giving up too much time and space and mental errors. I don't think it's an effort thing; sometimes, you kind of end up playing the other team's game a bit. We just need to get back to playing Flames hockey. We set a good foundation for ourselves. We know the recipe. We've had stretches in the regular season, last series where you get away from it. A little kick in the butt and reminder, guys on our team are very accountable to each other. They know what they need to adjust and be better with the help of some video and other things. I expect a better effort from our group."

ON SHUTTING DOWN EDMONTON'S TOP PLAYERS:

"The reason we're so successful 5-on-5 is we have a team checking game. The best way to shut down talented players is to check together. It's not a one man job, you aren't going to stick a guy on him and tell him to chase him around all game. It's your system and structure and trust in one another that ultimately shut down guys like that. As the series goes on and games get tighter as they typically do, you're able to shut down players like that through a team effort. That's the way playoff hockey and the nature of sports goes."

ON PLAYING WITH BACKLUND & MANGIAPANE:

"They're both great forecheckers, which is one of the biggest strengths and that puts a lot of pressure on D-men. But I think we all see the game similar, want to possess the puck, we want to make plays, we want to be hard to play against. We all take pride in our defensive game. The fact we defend so hard allows us to have more time and possession and ultimately create more scoring chances. It's one of those things that just clicks. Sometimes you have chemistry with guys, sometimes you don't. We've had success when we played together throughout the season and I think we can take it to another level. We're all good friends and constantly talking on ways to get better. We all want to continue and be a difference maker."

"It's been one of those things where it clicks"

JOHNNY GAUDREAU ON LIMITING PENALITIES :

"Some guys aren't seeing the ice for eight, 10, 12 minutes. I've been in situations like that we you get a lot of penalties. It's hard. It's hard to sit on the bench for that long and jump right out into the game when the other team has had their top guys out there paying for a while, so it's hard to get into a rhythm like that. That's where our game tends to slip a little bit, when we get into situations like that. We're best when we are playing all four lines, rolling all four lines. Just try to stay out of the box and try to limit our penalties."

"We've done a good job on our starts"

ON GETTING BACK TO THEIR GAME:

"We're in a great position right now. Its 1-1 in the series and we know we haven't played our best hockey in either one of those two games. As a team, we're going to come prepared tonight. I'm really proud of the way our team has played this year. Especially in that first series. Some of our best games in that series aren't even close to what we played in these first two games. We know we have that next level and know where we can play. I don't think we've shown that in this series. We'll be better."
