The Edmonston Fire on Edmonston Pumping Plant Road and Cattle Creek in Kern County is the biggest of the four at 682 acres with 80% containment. The blaze began on Thursday. Investigators are still searching for a cause.
The Quail Fire on Quail Canyon Road and Pleasants Valley Road in Solano County has burned 135 acres with 45% containment since igniting on Saturday. Investigators told KTVU it was likely caused by a resident mowing their lawn, but have not yet confirmed the cause.
Evacuation orders were in place Saturday night after several residential areas north of Vacaville were threatened by the Quail Fire flames, but the orders have since been reduced to a warning. "Those who require additional time to evacuate, and those with pets and livestock should leave now," fire officials advised.
Firefighters in Mendocino County are battling the Owens Fire on Highway 1 and Bill Owens Road, south of Point Arena. CAL FIRE reported Saturday evening that the blaze had reached 36 acres with 60% containment.
Lower temperatures and higher humidity Saturday night aided fire suppression efforts as crews worked to strengthen containment lines.
