Call of Duty: Warzone has been released for a little over two years now and it sounds like Activision is now working on a sequel. We don’t have too much confirmed information about Call of Duty: Warzone 2 as of now but what we do (think we) know is that this will be a completely different game from the current Warzone experience. And some of the features that are said to be coming to Warzone 2 sound like exciting additions that keep the Warzone genre fresh.

Most of these features that I will be going over are technically rumors because they are not officially confirmed yet by either Activision or Infinity Ward, but there is some really strong evidence for each of them.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 newest additions

Strongholds

One of the biggest additions that is rumored for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is Strongholds. Strongholds are locations that are scattered across that maps that will be guarded by AI enemies. Each Stronghold will have a set of objectives to complete along with some AI to take down. If you are able to complete the Stronghold, you will be granted with your loadout and a ton of other rewards to go along with it. There is no confirmation on if there would be other ways to get your loadout. If this is the only way to get your loadout, it would be a complete change of pace from how we are currently used to getting them.

Pro Perks

If you go back to the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer days, you should remember something called Pro Perks. Pro Perks were just enhanced Perks to make the standard Perk slightly better. For example, you had Slight of Hand and Slight of Hand Pro. The Slight of Hand Perk allowed for faster reloading. Slight of Hand Pro would also allow you to have faster aiming down the sight or scope speed.

Every Perk had a Pro version of it that made it better and leaks have suggested that Pro Perks will be making their way into Call of Duty: Warzone 2. It is said that you will be able to acquire these Pro Perks through Strongholds and they will be able to give you an additional boost while you are out there fighting on the battlefield.

Bags

Leaks have also pointed towards various different bags that you will be able to loot across the map that will be able to hold lots of your items depending on how big the bag is. If you aren’t familiar with the Bag System from other video games, each in-game item takes up a certain area of your bag. To make things easy for the sake of conversation, let’s just say there is a 25-square grid per bag. Each weapon, killstreak, lethal, etc… would take up a certain number of squares on the grid in your supply bag. You are able to fit as many items as the grid will hold, but some items may take up 4,5, or even 6 slots on the grid.

As far as how big these bags will be is yet to be unknown, but there is said to be different rarities of bags that you are able to loot with some of the rarer bags holding lots more items. This will be a great way to hold more than just your standard two weapons and you can hold onto a bunch of higher quality items.

Armor Vest Tiers

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 wouldn’t be a Battle Royale game without some type of armor. Armor vests are said to be making a return with what we saw in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout, but also combining these with armor plates from Warzone — meaning there will be various different rarities of armor vests that you are able to locate, but the armor vests themselves don’t protect you from any damage. Instead, you have to find armor plates and use the armor plates when you have the armor vests on. The rarer the armor vest, the more armor plates you will be able to equip onto your character. I think that the concept of combining both variations of armor from Blackout and Warzone is a fantastic idea.

If all of these new additions make it into the final cut of Call of Duty: Warzone 2, this game is shaping up to really have some interesting features. However, the game is still being developed and there can be hundreds of changes that take place from now until the official release date. There will likely be a bunch of other additions that make their way into the final version of Warzone 2, but so far things are sounding very good.
