Friday night, the San Francisco Police Department responded to a call for help from a motorist. The mother was in labor trying to get herself to the nearest hospital, but the babies came too quickly.

Officials used their training and skills to assist and comfort the family and first newborn. Minutes later, as the San Francisco Fire Department arrived at the scene, the second baby was born.

Both babies and the mother were taken to a local hospital. All three are healthy and will be okay, the fire department reported.
