Boubacar Kamara announces he is quitting Marseille amid interest from FIVE Premier League clubs including Man Utd

BOUBACAR KAMARA has put a number of Premier League clubs on red alert after announcing he will be departing Marseille.

The versatile 22-year-old, capable of playing as a defensive midfielder or centre-back, will become a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Kamara is regarded as one of Europe's most talented youngsters having burst on the scene during the 2017-18 campaign.

A key player for Marseille, the France youth international chipped in with a goal and an assist in 48 games in all competitions this season.

He helped the Stade Velodrome outfit finish second in Ligue 1 to secure Champions League football for Jorge Sampaoli's side.

But he has now declared that his appearance in Saturday's 4-0 win against Strasbourg was his final appearance for the club.

Speaking to Telefoot, Kamara said: "I’ve made my decision, which is to not renew and to leave OM at the end of this season.

"I think it’s the best decision for the next part of my career.

“I’m at a point in my career where I want to progress, to discover a new challenge, a new league.

"I’ve chosen my future club, you’ll find out who it is soon.”

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the player.

The Red Devils are claimed to have rejected a move for Kamara in January due to the uncertainty surrounding their next manager.

But with Erik ten Hag confirmed as their new boss, they could now look to strike up a deal for Kamara.

And in March we told you how Crystal Palace and West Ham were also eyeing up a swoop to bring him to the Premier League.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, it is the Villans that are in pole position to sign him.
