The Boothbay Region High School boys tennis team lost at Madison High School, 4-1, Saturday, May 21.

Coach Matt Brewer said despite the loss, the Seahawks were competitive against the division-leading Bulldogs.

“We lost 4-1 but there were some positive takeaways. Andrew (Fowlie) played fantastic and won his third singles match. It’s the best I’ve seen him play all year. Madison’s second singles player (Isaac Ouellette) is the best second singles I’ve seen and Sawyer (Blake) was right there with him. Sawyer really played well. The Madison coach was very impressed. At one point it looked like we really had a chance at winning the team match. Cleyton (Splaine) started great but faltered in the middle and just never seemed to get his momentum back,” said Brewer.
