Coronation Street's Antony Cotton has teased the return of his on-screen son in a brand new photo from the soap's set.

It was confirmed earlier this month that Antony's character, Sean Tully, will soon be reunited with his son, Dylan Wilson, who was last seen visiting his dad in 2020.

Antony has now shared his excitement about the pair's upcoming on-screen reunion, posting a photo on Twitter of himself and Dylan's actor Liam McCheyne with their arms around each other on the set of the Grimshaw house.

"Finally got a pic with @liammccheyne on the Grimshaws set, Number 11 Coronation Street, my home from home for the last 18 or so years," he wrote. "I've known him and his brother @connormccheyne since they were babies. Liam is back playing Dylan. Welcome home, son."

Liam also shared the same photo on his own Twitter account and revealed that he'd love to enjoy a slightly longer stint on the cobbles this time.

"As Dylan returns to Coronation Street I'm absolutely buzzing to be on this amazing adventure that im hoping to last," he wrote. "With some of the most amazing cast and crew I couldn't ask for much more. Sneak peek BTS of Sean and Dylans growing relationship @antonycotton

Sean shares Dylan with his old friend Violet Wilson after Sean agreed to have a child with her when Violet was diagnosed with fertility issues.

Violet left the street soon after Dylan's birth after she reconciled with her ex, Jamie Baldwin, and she was reluctant to let Sean see his son at first, but he has since enjoyed several visits with Dylan.

Antony signed a new contract to remain on Corrie in November and he has since teased that Sean has some big plots ahead in the near future, including the return of Dylan.

"I have a great year ahead - Sean is going to finally get his son Dylan back home for a great run of storylines that will map out the next 12 months," he said earlier this year.

There is also romance on the horizon for Sean, as next week fans will meet his new love interest.

Played by Brookside legend Simon O'Brien, Frank Bardsley will quickly catch Sean's eye as he flirts with him at the Rovers - but there could be a spanner about to be thrown into the works when George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) realises that he already knows Frank.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
