Does anyone know if the actor Trevor A. Toussaint has left his role as Walter Devereux in Hollyoaks? he hasn't been in for a while now, so just wondering if he has left the show for good? To be honest, I couldn't care less if he doesn't come back, I am just wondering that's all :)

He hasn't officially left so might be Covid related to his or someone elses health etc.

As one human to another, I hope he is ok.

He’s one of the more interesting characters on the show so I do hope he comes back. Would have been interesting to his on screen reaction to finding out about Toby and also finding out about Celeste’s death.

I love Walter. Since he, Celeste and Toby went the Deveraux’s aren’t as great as they used to be. Martine is still fab of course, but the new auntie or whoever she is and the detective who looks about 16 haven’t had the same impact on me as Walter, Toby and Celeste. I am still annoyed Toby and Celeste got the chop. Especially killing of Celeste.

Agree, i loved Celeste, the new girl Zoe is rubbish and not a great actor either.

Toby was also good and possibly one of the few killers we could sympathise with due to his background.

I don't mind DeMarcus he is one of the better teens but overall i much preferred Toby, Celeste and Walter to Demarcus, Zoe and the dreadful Pearl!

I really liked Toby and Celeste when they were first introduced and thought all the tension and resentment between Toby and Mitchell had interesting story potential but once the show had Toby murder Lisa he was over as a character for me. I just couldn't take the Deverauxs seriously as a family unit after that and unfortunately, I think as long as Toby stuck around all it did was do damage to the other characters and made them so unsympathetic. Especially since it wasn't even a crime of passion but a premeditated mostly remorseless crime he wasn't even all that sorry about beyond being upset that he got the wrong victim (his brother) whom he then framed for the crime destroying his life too. I get that both Rachel and Mitchell's actor were leaving and so I guess the show was relying on out of sight, out of mind but what a shortsighted decision that storyline was.

I like Walter and think he's an interesting character but I have to assume the actor is sick considering the character hasn't been around in a good long while.

I like Walter too and think he fills a valuable role as elder in HO. Especially since losing the fabulous Marnie, the older cast needs building up again.

He would not be though if he had not returned to filming yet.

Didn’t like Walter but his absence has been noticeable and honestly should have been addressed to keep viewers in the loop even if its as vague as “off due to covid safety reasons” and tbh I think at this point if covid is the reason than tbh the character should have just been killed off rather than left in limbo or recasted as he’s been gone months. Getting towards a year.

Either they need to announce this break or that he has infact left for good and kill Walter or recast off so he’s not in a limbo

Especially considering Walter was ill too and needed a transplant!

A few weeks ago Pearl was flirting with Walter on the phone, I thought this might be an indication he was coming back soon, but we've heard nothing since.

I've just been nosey and had a peep at Trevor's twitter and can see his bio still says 'currently playing Walter in Hollyoaks' (unless he's just forgotten to change it) and also likes a lot of tweets by Hollyoaks and other cast members... but who knows, it is odd that it hasn't been addressed especially as the character was in vital need of a transplant!

In the middle of a transplant storyline is a bad time for an extended break of 9ish months at this point. Usually a break like that gets announced or addressed if it’s over 3 months.

They should honestly have had Walter appear until after the Toby. Reveal and had Toby die and Walfed get his transplant. Then recover off screen or just point blank killed him off rather than leave him in Limbo as Toby is now also in prison:

I mean if he wasn't coming back, or they knew he would be taking a longer break than expected they could have just addressed it by saying he'd found a suitable donor abroad. Much better than saying nothing at all.

The show need to address I'd the character is returning it not even if it is at a later date his absence has been unnoticed IMO which is generally not a good look for a character

If health reasons are the reason why Trevor has stopped filming. Then it genuinely could be a case of the show not knowing if or when the character Walter will return.

It does make it harder to address the character on screen if they don't know what will happen.
