The Stanley High School girl's softball team will play for the Division IV (Non-Select) State Championship on Saturday after Friday's win over Anacoco in the semifinals. While picking up a win in the state semifinals was part of the goal, the Panthers aren't done yet. They've got bigger things in mind. Back in September, the Stanley community was shocked by the tragic death of senior softball player Aubrey Hubier. Hubier, who was a leader on the team, died in an ATV accident.
Isolated severe thunderstorms will be possible Friday afternoon/evening. Heavy rain and another round of severe weather are possible late Sunday into early Monday.
