Early storms in Charleston couldn't stop the 2022 IHSA Girls State Track & Field Championships from taking place. More than two dozen individuals from across East Central Illinois would place inside the top three in various events, with dozens more also winning State medals.

Tuscola would win the team State Championship in class 1A, with other State Champions from the area including:

Tuscola's Alyssa Williams in the 100 and 200 meter dashes in class 1A

Maroa-Forsyth's Livia Binder in the Pole Vault in class 1A

Mt. Zion's 4x800 relay team in class 2A

Altamont's Grace Nelson in the 100 meter hurdles in class 1A

Lincolns Becca Heitzig in the 800 meter in class 2A

Tuscola's 4x200 relay team in class 1A

Glenwood's Katelyn Lehnen in the 200 meter dash in class 3A.
