Classical Movements Announces Secret Garden Concerts for May & June 2022

Classical Movements has announced its summer slate for its Secret Garden Concerts in May and June 2022.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be on vocal and operatic performances only.

The company will feature performances of “Le Nozze di Figaro” starring Musicians from the Prague Summer Nights Young Artists Music Program & Washington National Opera Cafritz Young Artists.

Performance Dates: June 2-4, 2022

“Steps Towards Freedom: A Juneteenth Remembrance” will feature soprano Ayana Freelon, baritone Carl Dupont, dancer Shawna Williams, and pianist Dr. Lester Green. Pamela Simonson will narrate the evening which will include spirituals, songs, storytelling, and lyrical dance to celebrate Juneteenth.

Performance Dates: June 16, 2022

There will also be a performance dedicated to Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata,” another entitled “The Golden Age of Gypsy Jazz,” and another called “Cuban: A Night in Havana.”
