Cumberland Police Make Two Arrests Thursday

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department has announced two arrests made Thursday in unrelated cases.

First, police arrested Matthew Schafer Zink, 38, of Cumberland MD. Zink was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court. The warrant was in reference to Zink failing to appear in court on a previous charge of driving with a suspended license Zink was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was held on $10,000 bond.

Then police reported the arrest of Joseph Paul Ramos, 19, of Cumberland MD. Ramos was arrested on an outstanding Arrest Warrant charging him with second degree assault for an incident that occurred on May 6th, 2022. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held on $5,000 bond.
