One Person Shot in Frederick Early Saturday Morning

FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place Saturday morning, asking residents nearby to check their home video systems to see if any evidence was captured on video.

According to the department, at approximately 2:00 a.m. officers responded to the 400 Block of North Market Street after hearing what sounded like gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed a firearm was discharged during their initial investigation, but no victims were located. Police said later that morning, the department received notice from an area hospital that one victim was shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries and arrived at the hospital.


“This is an open and active investigation. The Frederick Police Department is seeking any information residents may have to assist in this case,” the department said. “Any residents or businesses in the area that have video footage are encouraged to share that footage to assist in the investigation.”
