Just minutes after Heat star Jimmy Butler was ruled out for the remainder of Game 3, it appeared the Celtics had suffered a significant injury of their own.

Marcus Smart went up for a rebound and came down awkwardly, rolling his right ankle hard. To make matters worse, Miami guard Kyle Lowry came down on Smart's leg at the same time.

Smart was screaming in pain and could barely put any weight on that leg as he got helped to the locker room. It certainly seemed like he would miss the rest of Game 3 at a minimum.

But then a few minutes later, ABC's cameras captured Smart jogging in the hallway outside the locker room, testing out the ankle. Moments later, he was running out of the tunnel and back onto the court to a standing ovation from the TD Garden crowd.

Smart checked back in, and less than a minute later he knocked down a 3 to cut the Heat's lead -- which was 26 at one point -- to 10.

Butler, the Heat's leading scorer, did not return for the start of the second half and was ruled out due to right knee inflammation. Butler missed a game earlier in the playoffs with the same injury.
