6-year-old NJ boy on dirt bike hospitalized after colliding with truck hauling horse trailer

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 6-year-old New Jersey boy was hospitalized Friday after the dirt bike he was riding collided with a truck hauling a horse trailer, tossing him from the bike, police said.

The incident took place at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Mansfield Township in Burlington County, township police said Saturday,

The boy entered the roadway, and was hit by the trailer’s rear fender -- throwing him off the bike -- after the truck swerved to avoid him, according to township police.

The boy's condition is unknown. He was treated at the scene, then transported to a hospital.
