20-year-old claims self defense in KC gas station killing

JACKSON COUNTY —A Kansas City man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Andreone T. Hall at a gas station at 33rd and Linwood in Kansas City, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.

Jerpree Williams, 20,  faces Murder 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.

According to court records, police in the area of Linwood and Indiana responded to the sound of gun shots. They found the victim deceased in the parking lot of a gas station at 33rd and Indiana. He had been shot multiple times. Surveillance video showed the defendant pull a gun and fire at the victim, who began to run away.

The Medical Examiner determined the victim died as a result of the multiple gunshots. The defendant initially told police he didn't shoot at the victim, then he said he did it in self defense.
