NYPD: Man killed after being ejected from car on Korean War Veterans Parkway

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A man was ejected from a vehicle after it struck the guardrail on the Korean War Veterans Parkway and pronounced dead at the scene on Saturday evening, the Advance/SILive.com has learned.

The man was a passenger in the vehicle, according to a spokesperson with the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information. It was unclear if other people were injured in the crash, or how many vehicles were involved.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:22 p.m. on the northbound side of the Parkway, near Arden Avenue, and all lanes were subsequently closed by police, said the spokesperson.

As of 9:34 p.m., the lanes were still closed, according to police.

The investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.
