Mizzou softball falls short against Arizona; will play again for a spot in the Regional Final

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou softball team will have to get past the winner of the Missouri State/Illinois elimination game in order to have a spot in the Regional Final on Sunday. The Tigers fell to Arizona, 2-0, in the first game of the day on Saturday.

Junior pitcher Jordan Weber put up a solid outing. She tossed for five innings with six strikeouts and one two-run homer allowed.

However, the offense couldn't get going to back Weber up against the Wildcats. MU had just four hits against Arizona pitcher Hannah Bowen. She finished her day with six strikeouts and no runs allowed.

Up next - Mizzou will play in a late game on Saturday night against either the Fighting Illini or the Bears. The winner of that game will advance to the NCAA Regional Final.
