DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police said they're looking for suspects involved in an incident that led to shots fired at officers early Saturday morning after authorities pursued a vehicle in Detroit.

The Detroit Police Department said suspects in a new black Ford Fusion with silver rims fired multiple rounds at officers in their squad car around 4 a.m. near Davison and Dexter on Saturday.

One of the suspects fired the weapon and struck the cop car several times.

Police were able to get descriptions on two of the suspects; no information on the driver was released.

The front passenger was described as a white male with no shirt and black ski mask.

The rear passenger, also the shooter accoridng to DPD, was said to be a black male wearing a dark hoody with unspecified writing on the back and black pants with a white stripe and white sneakers -- he, too, was wearing a black ski mask.

The officers continued to pursue the suspect vehicle despite sustaining damage to their patrol car; it is unclear at this time if the pursuit was called off or if the suspects managed to get away.
