As the days have slowly ticked by, the feelings of Chicago Bulls fans have vacillated as their future with Zach LaVine appears murky at best. With the Windy City franchise pondering whether or not to sign LaVine to a deal worth well over $200 million, even Chicago’s staunchest supporters have realized that LaVine could opt to take his talents elsewhere.

On paper, while the Bulls would still have a ton of firepower on offense, losing LaVine and the 24.4 points per game he provided last season would be an enormous blow. With that said, LaVar Ball, the father of Bulls star point guard Lonzo Ball, believes otherwise.

LaVar Ball has the perfect replacement in mind just in case Zach LaVine leaves

If LaVine does decide to pack his bags and soar through the air elsewhere, LaVar views his other son, LiAngelo Ball, as the perfect replacement.

"“You ain’t gotta add another star,” said LaVar during an interview with David Kaplan of NBC Sports Chicago & ESPN. “Don’t think Gelo can’t score better than Zach because he’s 230. Zach a lightweight. You got to throw some post ups to Gelo and he’s going to shoot the three at a higher clip.”"

LiAngelo, who went unselected during the 2018 NBA Draft, has attempted to establish himself as an NBA player. Although he was initially given a roster spot by the Detroit Pistons earlier in the season, he was later waived.

Regardless of LiAngelo’s meager stats last year as a member of the Greensboro Swarm, averaging just 4.6 points a night, LaVar has continued to sing his praises.

Ultimately, despite LaVar’s otherworldly confidence in his son, should LaVine walk out the door, replacing his production appears to be an arduous task. And no vintage LaVar Ball take will change that.

In five full seasons donning a Chicago uniform, LaVine has been selected to two consecutive All-Star Games while putting up elite production, including averaging 24.4 points per game on 46.1% shooting from the field.

In spite of LaVine’s stellar numbers, LiAngelo, who did average a shade over 30 points per game in high school, is someone LaVar believes should only be on the Bulls’ radar as a potential replacement … if that.
