Spy x Family Episode 7 Confirms Anya Didn't Ruin the Friendship Scheme

Spy x Family is back and this time, Episode 7 put the focus on Anya Forger as she tried to make things right with Damian Desmond in an effort to help Loid Forger in his mission. However, it didn't work out as Loid had expected, leaving him to consider pursuing Plan A instead. But did Anya really fail in the Friendship Scheme? A closer look at the episode strongly suggests that Plan B isn't a complete failure just yet!

In Spy x Family Episode 7, Anya Forger decided that she should apologize to Damian Desmond after her father told her that she should avoid fights at school and it would be best to say sorry to her classmate. However, Becky Blackbell repeatedly keeps her from approaching the boy, saying that he isn't worth their time.

Interestingly, Loid follows his daughter to Eden Academy and keeps dropping hints to convince her to apologize. When Loid successfully gets Becky to leave Anya alone, Anya immediately approaches Damian and bursts into tears as she apologizes. However, an embarrassed Damian rejects her apology and runs away.

To Loid, it looked like the Friendship Scheme is a failure. But from the viewers' point of view, it was clear that Damian actually has feelings for Anya but has trouble expressing it which led to the rejection. Still, there's a good chance that the two could work things out in the next few episodes.

In the meantime, Spy x Family Episode 7 concluded with the arrival of Yuri Briar in the anime. In the post-credits scene, Yuri is approached by Dominic, who tells him that he met Yor Forger's husband. Not surprisingly, Yuri is shocked that his sister didn't tell her.

Spy x Family Episode 8 is titled The Counter-Secret Police Cover Operation ("Taihimitsu Keisatsu Gisō Sakusen") and will premiere on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
