UPDATE (Monday):
Fire investigators say an "overloading and excessive use of extension cords" was what caused the fire.
UPDATE, May 21 @ 8:00 pm:
All eastbound lanes into Cleveland on the highway have reopened.
PREVIOUSLY:
A Flea Market in Cleveland is a total loss after a massive fire that happened around noon Saturday.
Howard Thompson, the owner of Flea Land Flea Market says the market has been around for 43 years.
“We were open today and I'm just thankful that nobody was hurt. So, that means more than anything to me," Thompson says.
Bradley County PIO Adam Lewis tells us the market was storing almost $100,000 worth of fireworks when the building caught fire.
“We've had 30 years of shows for the public here, and so anyway, hopefully everything's not down the drain," Thompson says.
Mark Howard was one of the market's vendors and says the market is a Cleveland staple.
“This is an icon to Cleveland. So, when you take something like this out, it just is devastating to the town," Howard says.
All Eastbound lanes into Cleveland are shut down and only one westbound lane is open at this time.
Lewis says at least 10 firefighters did receive treatment for heat exhaustion.
Luckily, no other injuries have been reported and everyone is accounted for.
There is no sign of damage to surrounding buildings or structures.
Thompson says he hasn't decided if they are going to rebuild.
The cause is still under investigation.
This is a developing story.
