A traffic stop overnight Wednesday led to drug charges for the driver, according to police.

Nathan J. Neblina was charged with possession of dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs for transport, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a revoked license, police said.

About 2:50 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle driving eastbound on West Edison Road allegedly go through a red light at North John Wayne Parkway without stopping, police said.

Police stopped the vehicle, identifying the driver as Neblina, whose driver’s license was found to have been revoked in March 2005, according to a probable cause statement.

Neblina was arrested for driving with a revoked license, and his vehicle towed, police said.

A search of the vehicle allegedly found two taped bags of a crystal-like substance, which subsequently tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine, the probable cause statement said. About 2.15 pounds of the substance was in the bags, police said.

Neblina allegedly told officers the methamphetamine belonged to him and that he was planning to drop it off to someone in Gila Bend later that night, police said.

Neblina was arrested and booked into Pinal County Jail, police said.
