Update: A truck driver shot and killed another truck driver after the tractor-trailers they were driving came in contact with one another in Kingsport Friday, according to the Kingsport Police Department.
Authorities responded to Interstate 81 northbound at exit 63 at around 4:45 p.m.
Police said that two commercial truck drivers, 42-year-old Alex Erik Miller, of Edgewood, Maryland, and a 34-year-old man whose identity is not being released by police at this time, were each driving tractor-trailers northbound on Interstate 81 approaching exit 63.
Police said the two moving tractor-trailers came into contact with one another. The two drivers then pulled over to the side of the road. Police said the situation escalated and Miller was fatally shot by the other man.
Authorities said that the shooter is cooperating with the investigation.

Kingsport police are investigating a shooting on Interstate 81 at exit 63.
KPD Public Information Officer Tom Patton says they responded to the exit ramp in reference to a shooting between two motorists around 4:45 p.m. Friday afternoon.
He says this is an isolated incident and there is no reason to believe there's any danger to the public.
