Josh Allen throwing to George Kittle sounds like something from straight out of a video game, but it’s going to be a reality this summer.
Kittle, one of the founders of TE University, revealed on Friday that the Buffalo Bills star will be one of the quarterbacks throwing to the NFL’s top tight ends in year two of the summer training. Here is what Kittle said about Allen and the other QBs attending TE University on the Pat McAfee Show.
“Got my boy C.J. Beathard,” Kittle said. “Nick Mullens, one of my boys. But then I got a sneaky ol’ Trey Lance coming to town to throw. I think Zach Wilson is almost confirmed too so I got two young guns. And honestly, the one I’m very excited about is Josh Allen. He’s trying to make it work. He’s got a family thing that weekend, but he’s going to try to come for the first two days. We got QBs, boys.”
Kittle, Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and former NFL TE Greg Olsen put together TE University in 2021 as a way for players at the position to work on their craft together. Buffalo’s top tight ends entering 2022, Dawson Knox and O.J. Howard, were both in attendance at the event last year.
Knox credited the event for playing a part in his breakout season in 2021 when he posted a 49-587-9 stat line, all career-highs.
“Just taking little pieces of everybody’s game and trying to apply that to myself whether it’s a release, whether it’s a top of a route or something in the pass protection world.”
If Knox and Howard attend the event again this year, they can get some valuable reps in with their own quarterback ahead of the 2022 season.
