COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, a semi-truck heading to Denver jack-knifed and slammed into the shoulder along Interstate 25 north of the Nevada Ave. exit.

Colorado Springs Police shut down two of three northbound lanes of I-25 shortly before 8 a.m. as tow crews arrived on scene. CSPD says drivers should anticipate delays as crews work to clear the scene.

There are no injuries to report at this time. The two passengers inside the the semi-truck were an adult female and a juvenile male. The driver told KRDO she was driving from Phoenix to Denver for work.

CSPD say it's unclear how exactly the wreck occurred, or if another vehicle was involved.
However, it's abundantly clear that the slush and snow on the roads played a significant factor in the wreck.

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
