One person died and four others were injured after a head-on collision in southeast Austin overnight.
Austin-Travis County EMS said in a tweet medics responded at 12:58 a.m. to the 7000 block of Dee Gabriel Collins Road in reference to a vehicle-rescue call after two vehicles crashed head-on. When ATCEMS medics arrived, they identified a total of five patients.
ATCEMS said all passengers were extricated from their vehicles after being pinned inside.
One person died at the scene. Their identity has not been released by Austin police.
Another person was airlifted by Travis County's Star Flight to Dell Seton with critical, life-threatening injuries.
Three others were transported by ambulance. One adult and a child to Dell Children's Medical Center and the third to South Austin Medical Center, all with potentially serious injuries.
Authorities have not released a cause for the crash or any other information.
