1 dead, 3 injured in drive-by shooting outside Osceola County convenience store

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Osceola County continue to investigate a deadly drive-by shooting Friday afternoon outside a busy convenience store.

Investigators said they were called to the Key West Market on Old Dixie Highway just after 3 p.m. Friday after getting reports of several people being shot.

Three other people who were also hit by gunfire were taken to the hospital for treatment.

When deputies arrived at the market, they found 27-year-old Jaqwan Dockery dead from gunshot wounds.

Osceola Sheriff Marcos Lopez said investigators are looking at video from the area to identify a car or suspects involved.

Lopez said the shooting did not appear unintentional.

“People just don’t randomly come by a certain location and commit this act,” Lopez said.

The owner of the Key West Market said she was out of town when the shooting happened.

She said she had just bought the business three weeks ago and was hoping to turn its seedy reputation around.
