Marvel‘s Daredevil is set to return as a new Disney+ series, with Matt Corman and Chris Ord attached to write and executive produce.

There has been speculation that the popular Netflix series about the Man Without Fear would return in some shape or form especially considering that two of the stars of the Netflix series — Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio — have appeared in recent Marvel projects. Cox revived character Matt Murdock, the secret identity of Daredevil, in the film Spider-Man: No Way Home, while D’Onofrio returned as Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, in the Disney+ series Hawkeye.

Cox ignited speculation back in February when he said that his Daredevil character will return beyond Netflix.

Marvel has yet to formally announce anything regarding the show but it appears to be moving forward with writers at the helm.

According to Variety, reps for Corman and Ord declined to comment. Marvel Studios reps do not comment on projects in development.

Corman and Ord are most known for co-creating USA Network’s Covert Affairs starring Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham. The series ran for five seasons on the channel between 2010 and 2014. The pair most recently worked together as executive producers and co-showrunners on the NBC dramas The Enemy Within and The Brave as well as The CW’s Containment.

Fans have been expressing interest for more Daredevil ever since the Netflix series was canceled in 2018 after three seasons. The bad news was that the original Netflix deal included a clause that prevented any characters from the Marvel-Netflix shows from appearing in any non-Netflix projects for two years after cancellation.

The series was canceled at Netflix at a time when Disney began looking to bring all its Marvel heroes under one umbrella, with multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe shows having since debuted on Disney+. Moon Knight starring Oscar Isaac was the most recent to premiere. She-Hulk starring Tatiana Maslany dropped a trailer earlier this week.
