Eastbound lanes of Chesapeake Bay Bridge reopen after crash
The eastbound lanes on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge were blocked Saturday morning due to a crash.Check traffic on our interactive map hereAccording to the Maryland Transportation Authority, paramedics were called to the scene.Anne Arundel County fire officials said crews were called around 8 a.m. to the Bay Bridge for a crash involving several vehicles, including a motorcycle.Fire officials said one person was being flown from the scene to a hospital. There was no immediate word on the person's condition.At 8:30 a.m., the MDTA tweeted that eastbound traffic remained held for the crash response and that two-way traffic flow was in effect on the westbound span. Eastbound delays extended for about 2 1/2 miles. UPDATE - 8:54 a.m. -- The MDTA said one eastbound lane has reopened and that delays extend for about 3 miles.UPDATE - 9:15 a.m. -- The MDTA said the left eastbound lane remains blocked for tow units to clear the crash scene and that delays extend for about 3 1/2 miles.UPDATE - 9:32 a.m. -- The MDTA said all eastbound lanes have reopened on the bridge and that delays extended for about 4 1/2 miles.
