Town of Yorktown Supervisor Matt Slater announced on May 20 that he tested positive for Covid-19 and will immediately quarantine. Slater, who is also a candidate for Assembly in the district, said that all members of his family received positive Covid-19 test results on May 20. Supervisor Slater then took a PCR test, whose results will become available on Saturday afternoon.

As of Friday, Supervisor Slater did not have any serious Covid-19 symptoms. “It’s everyone’s social responsibility to quarantine when they receive a positive result,” said Supervisor Slater. “I’m glad that I’m vaccinated and boosted, and I’d like to remind others to get their shots because this pandemic is not over.”

Supervisor Slater’s cancellations include his attendance at Yorktown’s Hudson Valley Honor Flight on Saturday May 21 with veterans.
